Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled the spa, dining and family features coming to Norwegian Aura, its largest ship yet. Here's what cruisers can expect when it sets sail in 2027.
Norwegian Cruise Line has just given cruisers their first proper look at Norwegian Aura, the brand's largest ship yet and the newest addition to its Prima Plus Class. For our Ocean & Safari clients who love pairing a cruise leg with island time or a safari extension, this is exactly the kind of ship news worth watching. It's a strong reminder of how much choice modern cruising now offers, from wellness-led itineraries to destination dining that rivals a top restaurant on land.
A New Era of Wellness at Sea

Norwegian Aura - Spa Mediation Room
The headline feature is the Thermal Suite, spread across two decks of the ship's Mandara Spa and designed with the principles of contrast therapy in mind. Guests will be able to move between warm and cool spaces, water features and quiet lounges to build their own relaxation routine.
Among the standout additions is the Sensory Rain Pool, said to be the first of its kind at sea, which shifts from calm water to a tropical downpour and eventually a full simulated thunderstorm, complete with lightning effects and rolling thunder. Elsewhere in the spa, guests can look forward to a Snow Cave, a Salt Room, a Finnish and a Charcoal Sauna, a dedicated Foot Spa and a Blue Glow Suite designed to support recovery after travel. The spa also includes 24 treatment rooms, a Skin Lab and expanded medi-spa options, alongside a fully equipped fitness centre.
New Dining, New Flavours

Norwegian Aura - The Panorama Room
Food lovers have plenty to look forward to as well. Tamara, NCL's first specialty restaurant dedicated to Indian cuisine, makes its debut aboard Norwegian Aura on Deck 8, with a menu of regional dishes served in a setting inspired by North Indian temple architecture.
Also new is The Panorama Room, a reimagined complimentary dining venue on Deck 6 that uses large-scale LED displays and synchronised lighting to shift the room's scenery throughout the day, from changing landscapes to evolving artwork. As NCL president Marc Kazlauskas put it, the goal was to give guests "more freedom, choice and opportunities to relax, recharge and enjoy their vacation their way."
Beyond the new venues, longstanding favourites such as Le Bistro, Cagney's Steakhouse and the Japanese specialty restaurants Hasuki and Nama return with fresh designs, alongside an expanded Indulge Food Hall and Surfside Café.
Where Norwegian Aura Will Sail
Norwegian Aura sets sail for the first time in May 2027 with a seven-night Mediterranean voyage from Trieste to Barcelona, followed by a transatlantic crossing to Miami. From there, she'll spend the following two summers sailing seven-night Eastern Caribbean itineraries, including calls at Norwegian's private island, Great Stirrup Cay, before moving into Western Caribbean sailings for winter 2027/28.
For anyone weighing up a Caribbean or Mediterranean cruise as part of a bigger island-and-safari itinerary, Norwegian Aura is one to keep an eye on. As always, confirm current pricing, cabin categories and sailing dates with your Ocean & Safari consultant, since cruise line offers and itineraries can shift ahead of a ship's debut.
