About this Experience
For travellers who want Madagascar's full range in a single journey, this journey pairs the barefoot elegance of a private island beach lodge with the raw, spiny forests of the deep south — by way of the rainforests where lemurs rule the canopy. It begins on Nosy Komba, where days drift between diving, hiking and village visits against a backdrop of turquoise water, before continuing to Andasibe's ancient forest for close encounters with lemurs and a night among nocturnal wildlife.
The journey's final chapter is its most singular: Mandrare River Camp, a celebrated address for barefoot luxury deep in Madagascar's spiny forest, home to the Antandroy people. Here, sundowners by the river and traditional dance performances sit alongside guided walks through a landscape found nowhere else on the planet.
This is Madagascar at its most complete — beach, rainforest and desert-adjacent wilderness, each given the time it deserves.
