June to September and December to February are the two dry seasons. Gorilla Trekking: These months offer the most comfortable conditions for hiking through the muddy Volcanoes National Park. Trails are less slippery, and the vegetation is less dense, making gorillas easier to spot. Wildlife Safaris: In Akagera National Park, animals congregate around remaining water sources, making them easier to see during game drives. Weather: You can expect sunny days with clear skies, though mornings and evenings in the highlands can be cool.

March to May and October to November are the rainy seasons. Pros: The landscape is lush and incredibly green, birdlife is abundant, and you will find fewer tourists and lower rates at many lodges. Cons: Trails can be very muddy and challenging for trekking. Heavy rain can sometimes disrupt travel plans or game drives.
